You must belong to United States Masters Swimming (USMS) to swim with us. Our club is Niagara District Masters (NIAG). Our workout Group is Syracsue Chargers Masters Swim Club (SCMS). Please send a copy of your card to Dennis Cabrey or bring a copy to the pool.

August 28: Until further notice, Tuesday practices will be 5:15p-6:30p. Monday, Wednesday and Thursday practices will remain at 5:30p-6:45p.

ABOUT OUR CLUB

The Syracuse Chargers Masters Swim Club has been swimming in Syracuse since 1972 and over the years our club has promoted swimming for fitness and recreation for swimming enthusiasts of all levels. We are affiliated with United States Masters Swimming as part of the Niagara LMSC. Our members have the opportunity to meet their individual training goals, whether they happen to be swimmers seeking stroke training, triathletes training for a next triathlon, competitive open water swimmers, or former college swimmers. We welcome anyone 18 or older who is interested in improving his or her fitness through swimming.

Practices are held Monday through Thursday afternoon (5:30 PM - 6:45 PM), in the Women's Building on the campus of Syracuse University, Corner of Comstock Ave. and Stratford St. Our coachs create a practice of around 3000 to 4000 yards, and work with individual needs. Members attend practices as frequently or infrequently as they choose, according to their own schedule. Workouts vary but in general there are three groups: lanes 1 and 2 swim 3000 to 4000 yards, lanes 3 and 4 swim 2000 to 3000 yards and lane 5 swins a shorter, less structured workout depending on who is there. If you are interested in checking out the club please come to the pool during our practice time and talk to the coach or any one of the club members or contact Geoff Wells.
