ABOUT OUR CLUB

The Syracuse Chargers Masters Swim Club has been swimming in Syracuse since 1972 and over the years our club has promoted swimming for fitness and recreation for swimming enthusiasts of all levels. We are affiliated with United States Masters Swimming as part of the Niagara LMSC. Our members have the opportunity to meet their individual training goals, whether they happen to be swimmers seeking stroke training, triathletes training for a next triathlon, competitive open water swimmers, or former college swimmers. We welcome anyone 18 or older who is interested in improving his or her fitness through swimming.

Practices are held every weekday afternoon (5:30 - 7:00), in the Women's Building on the campus of Syracuse University, Corner of Comstock Ave. and Stratford St., and are led by our highly qualified & superb coach, Ellie Walker, assistant coach for the Syracuse University Varsity Swim Team. Members attend practices as frequently or infrequently as they choose, according to their own schedule. Workouts vary daily but in general there are three groups: lanes 1 and 2 swim 3000 to 4000 yards, lanes 3 and 4 swim 2000 to 3000 yards and lane 5 swins a shorter, less structured workout depending on who is there. If you are interested in checking out the club please come to the pool during our practice time and talk to the coach or any one of the club members.
